The government clarified that the small plane that crashed in Afghanistan with six people wasn’t from India. The aircraft, which was on its way from Thailand to Moscow, had stopped at Gaya airport in Bihar for refueling. Contrary to initial reports, it was revealed that the plane was registered in Morocco, not India. Additionally, the government stated that the crashed aircraft was an air ambulance and didn’t belong to any Indian airline.
The recent plane crash in Afghanistan involved a small aircraft that is not from India, whether it’s a regular scheduled one or a charter plane. It’s actually a small plane registered in Morocco. The ministry mentioned this in a post on X and mentioned that they are waiting for more details.
The ministry stated in a statement that the aircraft was an air ambulance, flying from Thailand to Moscow, and had stopped for refueling at Gaya airport.
The unfortunate plane crash that has just occurred in Afghanistan is neither an Indian Scheduled Aircraft nor a Non Scheduled (NSOP)/Charter aircraft. It is a Moroccan registered small aircraft. More details are awaited.

ABOUT THE CRASH:
On Sunday, Russian aviation authorities reported that a charter plane carrying six people disappeared from radar screens while flying over a remote, mountainous area in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province. Afghan police had earlier received reports of a plane crash in that region.
The Russian aviation watchdog, Rosaviatsia, stated that the aircraft was a charter ambulance flight traveling from Thailand’s Utapao airport to Moscow, passing through India and Uzbekistan. The pilot informed that the plane was running low on fuel and intended to land in Tajikistan. Subsequently, the pilot reported engine malfunctions, with one engine stopping and the second one also having issues.
The plane was conducting a private medical evacuation from Pattaya, Thailand, to Moscow, carrying a seriously ill Russian patient accompanied by her husband. The husband, a private entrepreneur, funded the flight. Russia’s Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case to determine if safety rules were violated.
The Taliban-run Afghan aviation ministry mentioned that the Russian plane deviated from its planned route, likely due to technical problems, and was not supposed to fly over Afghanistan. An investigation by the ministry’s technical team was underway.
