OnePlus unveiled the second version of their smartwatch at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. Comparing the OnePlus Watch 2 to its predecessor, which was first released in India in 2021, reveals a number of improvements. These improvements include longer battery life, better functionality, better design, and use of Google’s most recent Wear OS 4 platform.
Design of OnePlus Watch 2:
The new OnePlus Watch 2 is designed with a 2.5D sapphire crystal cover and a chassis made of US military-grade MIL-STD-810H stainless steel, drawing design cues from the OnePlus 12 series. The most recent smartwatch weighs about 49g without a band and about 80g with one, and it has IP68 water and dust protection.

Specification of OnePlus Watch 2:
The 1.43-inch AMOLED display on the OnePlus Watch 2 has a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a maximum brightness of 600 nits. This newest wristwatch, which is powered by both the BES 2700 MCU Efficiency chipset and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 SoC, uses the Snapdragon chipset to handle complex duties like managing Google apps while the Efficiency chipset takes care of background activities and easier chores. The OnePlus Watch 2, which is powered by Google’s Wear OS 4, comes in a single version with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
The 500 mAh battery that powers the OnePlus Watch 2 can last up to 100 hours when used in “smart mode” and up to 48 hours when used heavily. According to OnePlus, a 7.5W VOOC fast charger can fully charge the Watch 2 in under 60 minutes.
The 2.5D sapphire crystal cover on the OnePlus Watch 2 improves its scratch resistance. Because of its stainless steel chassis, it satisfies the most recent MIL-STD-810H US military requirement for strong durability.
According to the business, the device is also water resistant (5ATM) and has an IP68 resistance grade, which means it can be used while swimming. With support for several third-party apps, the Wear OS 3-powered OnePlus Watch 2 also comes preloaded with well-known Google apps like Calendar, Assistant, and Maps.
The fitness capabilities of the watch, which can be accessed through the OHealth app, include monitoring modes for more than 100 sports, including badminton, running, tennis, skiing, and others. The watch also has GPS support. Users are able to track information like ground contact time, ground balance, and VO2 max while they are in the running tracking mode. It also provides thorough analysis of sleep tracking data, including a log of all-day sleep that records REM, light, deep, and waking periods. In addition, it tracks breathing rate during sleep and assigns a quality grade.
