Family Star Movie Review 2024: Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur’s Latest Film Radiates Magnificence

Family Star Movie Review: Perhaps the primary issue with the Vijay Deverakonda-Mrunal Thakur film is the way Parashuram is written. There’s nothing exciting or novel about the way the story is delivered, and it feels dated.

Family Star Cast

Geetha Govindam, directed by Parashuram Petla, had a more reserved Vijay Deverakonda than the intense Arjun Reddy. It was a nice but unmemorable film. With Family Star, he now plays Deverakonda as a superhero who can effortlessly bend steel rods while simultaneously being an everyday man taking care of his family. Supported by producer Dil Raju, who is going for a blockbuster, the movie occasionally loses sight of its middle-class origins, displaying its lofty goals. Despite this, Petla’s preference for flair above substance makes for a dull and uninteresting film that falls flat as an entertainment value.

Govardhan, played by Vijay Deverakonda, is an ordinary man who provides sole support for his large family. Because of his skill at creating thin dosas to stretch their money, he is referred to as the Family Star. While the other of his older brothers is working hard to launch his own company, the other has a drinking problem and is addressing past concerns. Indu, a character created by Mrunal Thakur, takes up residence in their home. She is a Central University student who gradually integrates into their family before falling in love with Govardhan.

When a significant truth about Indu is revealed, the film abruptly changes course and their relationship becomes strained. Govardhan decides to cut all ties with her after feeling misled. But because of the circumstances that force them to work together, they are drawn together, and the remainder of the story centers on their reconciliation and ability to put their differences behind them.

Family Star Movie Review

The film focuses a great deal on everyday life, but instead of fitting in, its hero sticks out. His family sees him take on villains. Despite it being difficult to accept, Vijay Deverakonda gives his role a genuineness. However, the film’s writer-director doesn’t give him enough to hold it together. Mrunal Thakur looks amazing on television, and this is a lot more glamorous part for her than her last one.

Her character is underdeveloped, though, thus she is limited in what she can achieve. Even the central dispute between Thakur and Deverakonda seems implausible and lacks coherence. The performers are forced to compensate with extravagant speech and scenarios.

Gopi Sundar writes some really great songs for Family Star, and Mohanan does a fantastic job with the camera. But Parashuram’s writing is the film’s main weakness. The execution lacks passion, and the plot seems antiquated. The dialogue also lacks originality and intelligence.

Despite having little on screen time, Rohini Hattangadi is able to bring endearment to the role of Dadi. Other performers, such as Jagapathi Babu, do a respectable job in their parts.
