After being ill for a few days, renowned Jain sage Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj passed away on Saturday night. In Dongargarh’s Chandragiri Peek, he passed away. His loss is regretted by a number of significant figures, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In the Rajnandgaon district of Chandragiri, Dongargarh, Jain Acharya Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj departed from this life. He passed away about two or three in the morning. Within the Jain community, Acharya Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj was a highly esteemed religious figure. Before the assembly elections a few months ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to Dongargarh and got to know him. On social media, the prime minister even posted a picture of the two of them.
On Dongargarh’s Chandragiri peak, the Jain monk Acharya Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj departed from this life. At approximately 1:00 PM today, Sunday, his body will be integrated into the five elements. This event will be witnessed by a large number of people.
PM Modi showed Tribute:
Regarding the demise of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow. He said that he was fortunate enough to have the sage’s blessings for a long time. The Prime Minister recalls spending time with Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj Ji during his visit to the Chandragiri Jain Temple in Dongargarh, Chhattisgarh, towards the end of the previous year.
Jain Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj:
On October 10, 1946—Shad Purnima day—Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj was born in the Sadalga village of Belgaum, Karnataka. He set an example for his three brothers and two sisters, Swarna and Suvarna, who likewise decided to live chaste lives. Over five hundred persons have been initiated into Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj’s style of life. He was recently acknowledged and honored as the God of the Universe by the Guinness World Records on February 11.
The father of Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj was called Mallapa, and the mother was called Shrimati. His parents both achieved Samadhi and became initiated disciples of his way. In Bundelkhand, Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj is referred to as Chhote Baba with fondness. This is due to the fact that he erected the statue of Bade Baba Adinath Bhagwan in the Kundalpur temple, which is situated in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district. He also built a great temple in Kundalpur that was modeled by Akshardham’s magnificence.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respects at Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj’s Samadhi, he started to cry. He talked about how he had spent time with Maharaj ji in the Chandragiri Jain temple in Dongargarh at the end of the previous year. Through Nadda ji, PM Modi sent his sympathies during the BJP national convention. On behalf of the entire nation, he paid tribute to Saint Shiromani Acharya Shri Pujyasagar Maharaj. When the news of Maharaj ji’s Samadhi reached his followers, the Prime Minister expressed that the country mourned alongside them.
State mourning of half a day has been declared:
In observance of the national saint Acharya Vidyasagar Maha Muniraj ji’s demise, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has proclaimed a half-day of state mourning in Chhattisgarh. The Vardhman of today is Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj ji, a member of the Digambar Jain saint tradition. The national flag will be half-lowered during this period, and no state events or activities will take place.
In Dongargarh, Chhattisgarh, the Jain monk Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj entered Samadhi. At 1:00 pm, the palanquin of Guruvarya Shri Ji was paraded through Chandragiri Teerth in Dongargarh. At Chandragiri Tirtha, his remains will be integrated into the five elements.

Following the demise of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj, the respected spiritual head of the Jain community, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences. He said on social media that the spiritual community and society at large are grieving the death of such a beloved saint and spiritual mentor.
