AAP Accuses BJP for ‘Abusing’ ED to Halt Arvind Kejriwal from doing his Election Campaigns.

Arvind Kejriwal got a letter to answer questions from the Enforcement Directorate(ED) about the excise policy. The Aam Aadmi Party claims the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to stop Kejriwal from campaigning by using the agency. This is all going on while Kejriwal is touring in Goa and getting ready for the Lok Sabha election. The BJP says Kejriwal is acting like he’s on the run.

In New Delhi, the Enforcement Directorate asked Chief Minister “Kejriwal” to come for questioning on January 18 about the excise policy. This is the fourth time they’ve called him.

The Aam Aadmi Party says the BJP is using the agency to stop Kejriwal from campaigning for the general elections. Gopal Rai, who is part of Aam Aadmi Party, talked about this at a press conference and questioned why the summons came right before Kejriwal’s tour to Goa starting on January 18.

On Friday, AAP said Kejriwal will be in Goa for three days starting January 18 to get ready for the Lok Sabha elections. Then, on Saturday, the ED told him to come on the same day. Rai claimed this is not a coincidence.

He said the Enforcement Directorate should not act like a tool for the BJP and should not work as if it’s a part of the party. When asked if Kejriwal will go to the ED this time, Rai mentioned they are talking to legal experts and will follow their advice.

BJP accuses Kejriwal of acting like he’s running away and his party of making the ED’s investigation a political matter. The CM didn’t go for three summons about the excise policy issue. In his responses, Kejriwal said the notices were illegal and politically driven, made for unfair reasons.

Rai argued, “The Enforcement Directorate is a part of our government system. How did its notice get to the media before reaching the CM? That’s not how a government body should work; it’s the BJP’s doing.”

Rai also claimed that the Enforcement Directorate stayed quiet until Kejriwal’s tour plans were announced, showing that the BJP is trying to stop opposition leaders from campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections.

In response to these claims, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said that every time the CM was called by the Enforcement Directorate, Kejriwal came up with a new excuse.

Sachdeva found it surprising that Kejriwal allowed his former deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh to be part of the probe into the liquor scam. However, when the investigation reached Kejriwal himself, he started finding faults in the process.

The Bhartiya Janata Party  leader added, “It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that AAP and Kejriwal now realize that their claimed honesty is not what it seemed to be.”
