Babri Masjid Demolition: Modi’s Potential Apology for Babri Masjid Demolition Sparks Optimism; Statement by CPI MP Binoy Viswam

Babri Masjid Demolition: CPI’s Rajya Sabha representative, Binoy Viswam, questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who sought forgiveness from Lord Ram for a temple delay in Ayodhya, would also apologize for the Babri Masjid’s demolition. Viswam, Kerala’s CPI state secretary, playfully teased the prime minister on social media following the emotional speech during the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.

“Viswam raises the question of whether the Prime Minister, who sought forgiveness from Lord Rama for temple delays, will also extend apologies to the women of Manipur.

He challenges Modi’s commitment to tolerance and equality, urging an apology to the faithful for the demolition of Babri Masjid. In Modi’s Ayodhya address, he apologized to Lord Shri Ram, expressing regret for the centuries-long delay in completing the temple.

Notably, the 16th-century Babri Masjid was demolished by activists, including those from VHP and other Hindu organizations, during a Rath Yatra led by BJP’s L K Advani. Despite accusations against Advani and others, a special court acquitted them and 29 other accused in 2020.”
