Lal Salaam Review: In her first movie “3,” Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth showed she can create sweet moments on screen, and she does it again in “Lal Salaam.” Like in “3,” she keeps these sweet moments brief because the movie focuses on a bigger story. There’s a nice scene where Rajinikanth (playing Moideen Bhai) pretends to bowl while playing cricket with his son (Vikranth).
Regretfully, Aishwaryaa chooses not to feature many of these scenes in the film in order to focus more on the central issue of the narrative. Even when she does include them, sometimes the conversations go on too long, like to family members chatting over dinner. Even though these situations provide us joy, their constant repetition might become tiresome.
Plot: A reckless town man tries to mend his thug ways ends up resurrecting himself and proves to be worthy of the world, in the eyes of the same people who chased him away.
Cast: Superstar Rajinikanth, Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth, K. S. Ravikumar, Senthil, Thambi Ramaiah, Vivek Prasanna, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Thangadurai.
Lal Salaam’s length is the primary issue. There’s no need for the lengthy sequences because they don’t contribute anything significant to the plot in the future. This gives the impression that the plot isn’t developing.
The political side of the film, which primarily discusses religious strife between Muslims and Hindus, is praiseworthy. That being said, there was room for more nuance in the conflict resolution than just a straightforward fix.
The camera technique of Vishnu Rangasamy gives the movie a graceful quality that makes it flow naturally without being forced. Instead of advancing the plot, AR Rahman’s songs stand effectively on their own.
It’s critical to recognize how much more captivating Lal Salaam is with Superstar Rajinikanth in it. His alluring vibe makes the film much better. But he doesn’t have to do all the heavy lifting to make the movie sell; Vishnu Vishal in particular does a fantastic job leading the cast.
